I usually keep things pretty positive here on the blog, but today I need to get something off my chest. I’m writing this because, frankly, I’ve seen too many people lately treating traffic signals like they’re optional and ignoring the flow of traffic and that makes me worry about their safety. Every time I see someone walk blindly into the street or ignore a signal, I feel a mix of anger and genuine worry.
I’m not a police officer, but I shouldn’t have to be one to tell you that these laws exist for a reason. I felt the need to speak up now because I don’t want to see anyone in this community become a headline. No matter the time of year, it is vital to always obey traffic signals and stay vigilant.
Getting run over by a car or truck isn’t just a scary thought; it’s a preventable tragedy that results in severe injury or death. This isn’t about pointing fingers at any one person specifically—it’s about a “gut check” for all of us. Even if you think nobody is watching, or you think you won’t get caught, remember that the goal isn’t just “obeying the law”—it’s making sure you actually make it home safely.
I care about this community, and I want to see everyone back here for the next post. Please, stay alert and look out for one another out there. Your safety matters to all of us.
