Why do I care about fitness?

I care about exercise and taking care of my body because I believe it’s a temple of the Holy Spirit. The better I take care of it, the better my life will be. Having a life that’s full and rich of good experiences is worth exercising and trying to stay fit even as I get older.

This includes following my doctor’s advice and orders and watching what I eat. I’ve learned that too much of anything is not good for your body; it’s all about balance.

Using nutritional labels when they are available is part of my strategy. Plus, the fact that I don’t have a car—and have to walk, bike, or use public transit to get around—also helps keep me in shape.
