Hey everyone,
I wanted to take a moment to pull back the curtain a bit and talk about what things look like right now, both creatively and day-to-day.
What’s New: Tiers, and Commissions
First off, I’ve set up five new membership tiers over on Ko-fi and changed the existing one. I wanted to walk through each of them so you can see what they offer and how they differ:
- Copper Supporter (old Supporter offer): $5/month, grants access to Discord server Supporters Area, exclusive posts on Ko-fi, and sign in on a copper block in Public Minecraft worlds (ie. worlds that are part of YT series).
- Iron Supporter: $10/month, same as Copper except on Iron Block and 10% Ko-fi commissions
- Gold Supporter: $15/month, same as Iron, but Gold Block
- Emerald Supporter: $25/month, same as Gold, but Emerald Block
- Diamond Supporter: $50/month, same as Emerald, but Diamond Block and a hand-made thank you card mailed to you once a year, and limited to 20 slots
- Netherite Supporter: $100/month, same as Diamond, but Netherite Block, and card is sent twice a year instead of just once a year
[If you want to take a look at these tiers, I’d love to hear your suggestions in the comments for other ways to separate or structure them!]
Alongside the new membership tiers, I’ve also opened up a new birthday card commission, and I have an upcoming calendar commission in the works. Working on creative pieces like these is something I really enjoy, and every project helps push things forward.
The Reality Behind the Screen
As much as I love creating software and working on creative family-friendly projects, the reality is that I don’t have a steady income from people supporting me right now. To keep things afloat, I have to go to the temp office every single morning, Monday through Friday, and head down to the bread run on Saturdays just to try and get work and make sure I have food for the week.
Honestly, being a temp worker sometimes feels a lot like playing the lottery—except there’s no pay to play, and the jackpot is just hoping you get lucky enough to get hired on wherever you’re sent for the day.
Right now, I’m genuinely worried about rent and other bills. I’m behind on a couple of them, and the stress of juggling day-labor just to survive leaves very little room to breathe.
If you were in my shoes, wouldn’t you want to be supported as well?
How You Can Help
Every bit of support via Ko-fi, picking up a commission, or purchasing my software on Gumroad goes a long way toward helping me bridge that gap, easing the constant scramble for daily work, and giving me more time to focus on coding, game development, and creating things for all of you.
Thank you for reading, for sticking with me, and for any support you can spare—whether that’s joining a tier, commissioning a project, or just sharing this post.
